Bon Secours North Block Development
Varming Consulting Engineers were commissioned to design the mechanical and electrical services installations for the North Block Development which is a major new Cancer Care Centre incorporating medical, diagnostic, surgical and radiation oncology under one roof. The facility provides integrated cancer care, including rapid screening, diagnosis and advanced treatment. The new 15,000m2 building is a 7 storey structure, overlooking the River Lee and set into sloped landscape to the north of the existing Bon Secours Hospital. The north block expansion will house the following facilities;
Radiotherapy Unit, Oncology Unit, Operating Theatre Suites,
Theatre Reception / Recovery,
Coronary Care Unit, High Dependency Unit, In Patient Wards, PET / CT Unit,
Vertical transportation consisting of 6 number 33 person bed lifts.
Design and construction monitoring of mechanical and electrical services from concept to completion on site, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, process cooling sprinkler installation, pneumatic tube transmission specific extract, hot & cold water, medical gases distribution, vertical transportation, electrical power, lighting, communication and security services, fire and life safety services.
