Kerrygold Butter Packing Facility, Mitchelstown, Co. Cork
Varming Consulting Engineers were commissioned to design the mechanical and electrical services installations for the 6,000m2 Centre of Excellence which includes a state of-the-art butter production and packing facility and a Product Development, Innovation and Customer Presentation Centre. The facilities include 1,400m2 of office space, 800m2 cold store, 3,200m2 of production space with walk-on ceiling space and 600m2 of goods storage. Services include power, lighting, security, fire protection, air-conditioning and specialist ventilation, process water, compressed air, process cooling and medium temperature hot water.
Process cooling water system providing +1°C water for production use.
Full heat recovery from process chillers to provide low grade heat for production use.
DX refrigeration system for +4°C Cold Store.
Medium temperature hot water system providing 115°C for production use.
Compressed air system with full airside and waterside heat recovery.
Full stainless steel air handling plant for wash down.
Full sprinkler protection throughout to ESFR Standards.
LED lighting throughout.
Lighting control - presence detection, absence detection and daylight dimming.
Emergency lighting - Dali addressable emergency lighting control system.
Security - IP CCTV system POE, IP Access control system.
