Varming Consulting Engineers were recently appointed by the Sisters of Nazareth as Technical Advisors, associated with the Scheme Designs and Site Monitoring of Nazareth House Mallow, Cork and Nazareth House Malahide Road Dublin.

Both projects involve the overseeing of the design and construction for an extension and renovation of a 100 Bed residential care facility and associated enabling works. The energy efficient design of both of the new extensions is set to achieve a BER of A3.

These distinct projects draw on our previous experience as technical advisors in healthcare facilities of this type.

It is a requirement of the brief that the existing residential units are to remain operational during the builds, and this together with the requirement to relocate the plantrooms demands detailed phasing requirements to be incorporated into the overall design in order to maintain continuity of utility supplies.

The Dublin construction project is due to commence on site in December 2015 with a construction duration of 12 months while the Mallow construction project is due to commence on site in February 2016 with a construction duration of 15 months.
