EED – Medical Assessment and Training Centre at Cork University Hospital
Varming Consulting Engineers were recently appointed by Avanti Architects as Energy Efficient Design (EED) Expert, in accordance with IS399:2014, associated with the Medical Assessment and Training Centre at Cork University Hospital.
The project consists of the design and construction of 3,000m2 of teaching and student space including lecture theatre, teaching rooms and staff offices to allow for the centralisation and integration of education & training and support facilities for medical students at CUH.
The EED role is to ensure the project exceeds statutory requirements in all aspects of sustainability and achieves the highest levels of environmental effectiveness possible within project constraints and result in the most advantageous Life Cycle Cost outcomes.
