Varming Consulting Engineers are delighted to announce that our practice has been shortlisted for the 2021 ACEI Design Excellence Awards in the “Mechanical & Electrical” category for the Garda Divisional Headquarters at Kevin Street.

The new Kevin Street Garda Divisional Headquarters consists of five storeys built over a two-level basement. The building was constructed within the curtilage of the original headquarters site. The accommodation is arranged in linear blocks stepping down from the five-storey streetscape along Bride Street to the two-storey scale of the existing Garda building on Kevin Street (formerly the medieval Archbishop’s Palace). The linear arrangement of the building is the architectural response to the restrictive configuration and narrowness of the site.
