How We Demonstrate Sound Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Performance

In the modern context of increasingly stringent workplace regulations, being able to demonstrate your commitment to safety is key, which is why we, at Varming Consulting Engineers, are OHSAS 18001:2007 certified. Awarded to us by the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI), the certification demonstrates that we comply with the standard against which all health and safety management systems are assessed.

The standard, which is integrated into our ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 9001:2015 accreditation, is one that encourages good OH&S practices amongst our mechanical and electrical engineers, whilst simultaneously reducing safety related incidents and improving performance. The certification also demonstrates a commitment to OH&S to both our M&E consulting engineers and to our clients.

Positive Impacts of Health and Safety Accreditation

As well as providing a structured approach to the paradigm of OH&S in the workplace, having the accreditation offers a number of extra benefits to engineering firms that possess it.

It fosters:

  • A culture of continuous improvement in OH&S matters

  • A reduction in costs and liabilities

  • A strict discipline in adherence to OH&S guidelines

  • A reputation for our company as being one that is committed to proactivity in all OH&S matters

We are proud to be OHSAS 18001:2007 accredited, as workplace safety is of paramount importance to us, as should be the case with any forward thinking, employee-focused organisation. A company whose employees are happy and safe to get on with their work is more efficient, productive and can better work and support clients.
